A Great Day in the Mountains!06auction-RichardSchmid

Thanks to all who came and attended the RCVFD Festival and Richard Schmid Fine Art Aution.  Once again - through the hard of community volunteers, the Festival and Fine Art Auction went off without a hitch (well - okay - so the morning wind canceled the helicopter rides and it was a bit blustery all day), but we really can't complain.  It was a beutiful day - a great crowd - and a successful fund raiser for this donation based department.  Will the final numbers are not yet in and we expect totals to be down a bit this year due to the economy, we saw a great turn out (a little bit bigger than last year), and the we are quite sure we raised the money we need for our annual truck payment ($21K) and operations.  The day ended with a roar as the Medivac 1 helicopter paid us a visit.

This event is a critical fundraiser for the VFD as our direct donations do not cover our full operating cost and certainly do not pay for those truck. We'll announce final numbers when the full accounting is in. Please plan on attending next labor day weekend (the festival is always 10-4 on the Sunday of Labor day).  Once again - thanks for all your support!

New CAFS Truck - In Service

The new RCVFD E632 is in service at station 3.  We are finalizing some of the labeling and striping - but the truck is ready to roll.  I've added some photos of the truck as it went into service at station 3.  Thanks to all the supporter of RCVFD in enabling us to put a second CAFS/Rescue truck in service.
