Larimer County is extending an invitation to the Open House for the road reconstruction project which was mailed to all Buckhorn Canyon area property owners.

Additional information on the project may be found on the project website. This will be updated at least monthly and more regularly once construction begins. A final Open House will be held once a contractor is on board and a schedule for the work is established.

Please pass this on to anyone else you know who may have an interest in the project.

If you would like to be deleted from the project mailing list, please let me know.

Aggressive Dog on Road

Hello Neighbors,

Be careful....last week, a large black/gray shepherd came out onto the road, from the driveway at 13075 Rist Canyon Rd., and attacked my dog, when we ran by. I could not get the dog to back down or go home. Thankfully, a wonderful neighbor from Stratton Park picked us up, when she saw what was happening. Those who walk/jog/run on the road, be very careful. I carry pepper spray, now.

Warm regards,

Michele Yarberry

Possible Mail Theft

Driving to town Sunday morning I noticed some trash on the side of the road below Davis Ranch. I realized that it was mail and thought somebody accidentally drove off with it on the roof of their car. As I drove further and saw that some envelopes were torn open and the line of mail on the side of the road stretched past the mouth of the canyon and into Bellvue, I came to the unfortunate conclusion that this might have been a case of mail theft. Please alert your neighbors that their mail might be compromised. Note that I drive in from the top of Ford Hill and did not see anything unusual above Davis Ranch.

Prescribed burn information

Two prescribed burns are happening nearby. Neither is in our area, but residents may see or smell smoke during these actions. But as always, if you're not sure, call 911.

Burn #1: The US Forest Service will be reigniting the Pingree Hill burn today, starting at the interior and burning throughout the week.

Burn #2: The Nature Conservancy will be conducting prescribed burns through May at the Ben Delatour Boy Scout Ranch in Red Feather Lakes. For more information on these activities, see the Glacier View Meadows Association notification

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is asking people to be on the lookout for a wild adult female elk wearing a high visibility red collar around her neck. If you see this animal, or have spotted her at any time, please call 800-451-8297 as soon as possible to report her location.
