Wildfire Partner Program
Larimer County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services Unit has an initiative called the Wildfire Partners Program (WPP) to help residents prepare for wildfire in their community and reduce their risk of loss during a wildfire. RCVFD is pleased to participate in this program, and if you would like to have a free Home Ignition Zone (HIZ) Assessment done, fill out the form below.

Icy Conditions on Rist Canyon Road

We have had several reports of the treacherous conditions of Rist Canyon Road in front of "the Ice House" just below Davis Ranch. Since the repaving project this summer, the sun melts snow and ice, allowing it to flow onto and across Rist Canyon Road at this location. Overnight, that moisture freezes into black ice and slush at the beginning of the curve as you drive downhill.

The county has been notified, and they have promised to look into solutions. But in the meantime, the only way to safely navigate this stretch is to slow down to below 20 mph. Please drive carefully!
